Copper Solvent Extraction Plant, Chile

Codelco, the Chilean state-owned copper company and the world’s top copper producer awarded the Group a US$40 million contract to design and deliver a 150,000 tonne per annum Copper Solvent Extraction (SX) plant at the Gaby copper oxide deposit, Chile. The project was conducted on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis. This included engineering, supply of proprietary equipment, construction, training, commissioning and start-up supervision.

The chosen technology for the project was the Bateman Settler^TM, a proprietary reverse-flow mixer-settler (RFMS) technology, which was developed and patented by Bateman Litwin.
